My little Kay short scale bass that I’m currently fixing up for use in a new project. Was gonna respray it red but it seems to be quite popular in the fresh sky blue that someone once applied to it. It was originally a tobacco sunburst many moons ago before I even bought it. I originally found it on Gumtree and purchased it off a chap in Edinburgh for £80 around 5 years ago when I was in a band called The New Birdmen. Seems only right to call it back into active service for duties with The Buccaneers!
Further to my demo I posted the other night, here’s a rough mix of the proper recording of my new song ‘Lost In Space’ as it is at the moment. Hope to add some strings, brass or both at some point in the near future. It just has a quick guide vocal for now but I’m gonna try and do a better vocal today.

This was a big favourite in the van on our recent Canadian tour. Heard it on the ‘60’s on 6’ radio station a few times. Really nice track with Zombiesque & Byrdian touches.
